On “Are Healthy” The Disconnects take the dirty and dangerous 1970’s sounds of bands like The Dead Boys, The Heartbreakers, The Ramones, and The Stooges and prove that Rock and Roll is something you still need. Thanks to them, it’s not going away anytime soon. Forget the mainstream music press saying this band or that band are “here to save Rock and Roll”. ”Are Healthy” is proof that since its inception Rock and Roll was, is, and always will be alive and well.
Track List

When this sound was new, it defined musical influence and the records of the era have stood up to the test of time. Now with …Are Healthy The Disconnects are showing off what made that sound great, pointing out that it can live on with new bands without sounding tired, and reminding me how excited I was the first time I cranked up “Sonic Reducer,” by allowing me to have the same experience all over again. How fuckin’ happy was I when the opening few bars of ‘Stranger’ kicked out the jams on my death decks? Well, let me tell you, this is top notch spirit of ’77 punk rock if ever there was any. Snarling and sneering like they’ve been mainlining L.A.M.F. then chugging a bottle of young, loud and snotty and doing it whilst wearing Joey’s leather jacket and Dee Dee’s Cons, all covered in Iggy’s peanut butter. Two fucking minutes and I was hooked.Dom Daley, UberRock

Making no bones about their early NYC punk influence, the Disconnects take the early blues-based, simple rock of their forefathers and increase the energy. The band flies through six tunes that just plain rock. (…) Also, the “punk ballad” rarely gets a spin anymore, but the Disconnects pull off the more sensitive emotions without seeming cheesy or disingenuous.John Gentile, Punknews

Any band who puts out an album on cassette automatically earns points in my book. Throw in a punk sound similar to The Ramones, but with cleaned-up vocals, and you have me sold.Roz Smith, The Aquarian
